About Me

Hi everyone.
My name is Kheira, and I am currently studying computing at Anglia Ruskin University. Mainly, it is the versatility of the course that most enticed me to apply. My initial experience of computing in a work environment began in year 11 when I shadowed a professional with a project to design and implement a new Windows Active Directory from Windows NT. This entailed finding and analysing hardware to replace the old system, migrating users from Windows NT0.4 domain to the new Windows 2000 Active Directory, and migrating network printers to the new system. The work proved to be extremely beneficial, as I was able to gain a deeper insight in to the infrastructure user administration, and enabled me to develop my networking and project management skills. This then fuelled my ever-growing interest in programming, as I came to understand that the operating systems are written in the C programme language. I then started experimenting with Visual Basic to automate procedures for operating systems, and in addition to this, I have recently began to study C++. In my opinion, programming in particular is a stimulating, creative process and I would love the opportunity to pursue this pastime, that I thoroughly enjoy, and one day perhaps become a programme developer. However, with the versatility and nature of the field I believe if I am to be successful during the course over my three year degree, I will leave university with a wide spectrum of choices within the field. Especially now having started my studies, I have come to realise that there are many more topics within computing that I find just as interesting and so look forward to the many opportunities I hope will come with a lot of hard work and determination!
